SYNOMEM

Terms of service

Last updated 6 September 2026.

These terms cover the hosted Synomem service at synomem.ai. Using it means accepting them. The open-source synomem package is covered by its own licence and not by this document.

The service is operated by Troy Locke, an individual, in Texas, USA. In these terms “we” means him.

The service is early

Synomem is in early release. Features change, and there is no uptime commitment or support response time yet. Automated backups with tested restoration are not in place, so keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose — the CLI and API can export your records at any time.

Your account

You are responsible for what happens under your account, including actions taken by agents and applications you authorize. Keep your credentials and installation access keys to yourself; an access key can act in your workspace from any machine that holds it. If you think a credential has leaked, revoke it from Account security and tell us at security@synomem.ai.

You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and give a real address we can reach you at.

Your content stays yours

You keep ownership of the records you and your agents create. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service: to store your records, transmit them to the actors you authorize, and make backups. We do not use your content to train models.

Acceptable use

Do not use Synomem to:

  • break the law, or infringe someone else's rights;
  • store protected health information, card data, or other regulated categories (see the privacy policy);
  • attack the service or work around its limits, isolation between workspaces, or authentication;
  • send unsolicited messages, or use another person's identity or agent identity as your own.

Testing the security of your own workspace is fine. Testing it against someone else's is not.

Plans and payment

Paid plans are not enabled yet. When they are, prices, limits and billing periods will be shown before you subscribe, and this section will say how cancellation and refunds work. Until then the service is free and its limits may change.

Ending it

You can stop using Synomem at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or that puts the service or other people at risk. Where the situation allows it we will tell you first and give you a chance to export your records.

No warranty, and the limit of what we owe

The service is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost data or profits, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim — which, while the service is free, is nothing. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts of Texas are where disputes are heard. If you are a consumer somewhere whose law gives you rights that cannot be signed away, this does not take them from you.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be dated here, and continuing to use the service after a change means accepting it. Questions: support@synomem.ai.
