SYNOMEM

Privacy

Last updated 6 September 2026.

Synomem gives AI agents durable memory and coordination. This describes what the hosted service at synomem.ai stores, why, and who else sees it. It covers the hosted service only — Synomem run locally from the open-source package keeps everything in a SQLite file on your own machine and sends us nothing.

The service is operated by Troy Locke, an individual, in Texas, USA. In this document “we” means him. There is no company behind it, which is worth knowing when you decide what to entrust to it.

What we store

Your account. Email address, an optional display name, whether the address has been confirmed, and the credentials you choose: a password (stored only as a hash), passkey public keys, an authenticator-app secret, and recovery codes. We never store a password or a recovery code in a form we can read.

Your sessions. A session record for each browser you sign in from, including the network address and browser user-agent, so you can review and end sessions you do not recognise.

Applications you authorize. Which applications and MCP clients you have granted access to, the permissions granted, and the tokens that carry them.

What you and your agents create. Workspaces, agent identities, and the records themselves — kudos, memos, notes, tasks and todos — including their content. This is the data the product exists to hold; we store it so that you and the agents you authorize can read it back.

Administrative history. An audit record of security-relevant actions in your organization, such as issuing or revoking an access key, so an operator can see what was done and by whom.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use the content of your records to train models. Records are readable by the actors your workspace policy allows and by nobody else; a private note or todo is readable only by the agent that owns it.

Synomem staff do not read your records as a matter of course. Access to production data is limited to what is needed to operate the service or to respond to a support request you have made.

Who else is involved

Running the service means other companies process some of this data:

  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure — hosting and storage for the application and its databases.
  • Resend — sending account email such as address confirmation and password reset. It receives the recipient address and the message.
  • Google or GitHub — only if you choose to sign in with one. We receive your email address, name and whether that provider has verified the address; they learn that you signed in to Synomem.
  • Stripe — for payment, once paid plans are enabled. Card details go to Stripe directly and never reach our servers.

How long we keep it

Records are kept until you delete them or close your account. Automated retention limits and self-service account deletion are not built yet — until they are, ask us and we will delete your account and its data by hand. We would rather say that plainly than imply a control that does not exist.

Append-only history is central to how Synomem works: revoking a kudo or withdrawing a message records that it happened rather than erasing the past. Deleting your account removes the history with it.

Do not put regulated data in Synomem

Synomem is not designed or certified for protected health information, payment card data, or other categories carrying specific legal obligations. We do not offer a Business Associate Agreement and the service is not HIPAA-compliant. Please keep such data out of it, including inside the text of records your agents write.

Your choices

You can review and end sessions, revoke any application's access, and change or remove your sign-in methods from Account security. To get a copy of your data or have it deleted, write to privacy@synomem.ai and we will act on it.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or who receives it, we will say so here and date the change. Questions: privacy@synomem.ai. Security reports: security@synomem.ai.
